CorvetteC3.ca is a free, non-commercial information site for enthusiasts of the 1968–1982 Chevrolet Corvette (C3). This page explains what personal data is processed when you visit the site, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy/cookie rules.
The site is operated by a private individual based in Belgium ("we", "us"). You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@corvettec3.ca. On request we will provide the controller's full identity and postal address.
We use cookies and similar technologies only for two non-essential purposes: advertising (Google AdSense) and website analytics (Google Analytics 4). These are not set until you have given consent, where consent is legally required.
If you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent banner appears on your first visit. Until you accept, advertising and analytics storage are disabled by default (Google Consent Mode v2). You can accept, refuse, or set granular choices, and you can change your mind at any time:
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. See how to manage cookies.
We use Google AdSense to display ads, which keeps the site free. Google is a third-party advertising provider. When you consent, Google may use cookies and your device's IP address to measure and (where you allow it) personalise ads. From shortly after 3 August 2026 Google also uses IP-based signals for ad measurement and personalisation in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Without consent, only limited, non-personalised processing takes place.
How Google uses your data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also review your Google ad settings.
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0D1G8N2R52) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are only set after consent. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address.
If you choose to submit an entry to the guest book, the "C3 of the week" showcase, or the owner registry, we process the data you enter (for example a name or nickname, an email address, a message, car details, and any photos you upload). This is used only to review and, after moderation, publish your submission.
The site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Like any web server, the hosting infrastructure processes technical request data (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in securely operating the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Google may process data on servers outside the EEA, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on Google's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing done before withdrawal). To exercise these rights, email info@corvettec3.ca.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian supervisory authority: Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données (APD–GBA), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.
